Italian Roundtable

The roundtable in Italy was organized by Programma Integra managers in Rome on 28th of June. The 15 participants from social cooperatices, Italian Council of Refugees, Universities, intercultural mediators, Rome Municipality and more were all very interested in with LL2II Project and its products and expressed their plesure to exchange good practices. The presented projects in the roundtable were summarized in below;

  • Access to basic services such as housing and healthcare; Presentation of the project ‘Casa Scalabrini 634’, a reception center for asylum seekers and refugees, funded by The Scalabrini Foundation.
  • Presentation of University for refugees - University for refugees education without boundaries - Information Desk for Refugees and Immigrants.

UNINETTUNO is the only University in the whole world where a student is taught and can learn in five languages (Italian, French, English, Arabian, Greek), where thousands of students are actually enrolled, who come from 140 different countries. The teachers, too, come from different universities in the world. UNINETTUNO made out of internationalization an active instrument for cooperation, and that has allowed to plainly create Education without Boundaries, in order to let refugees and immigrants access the University in whatever part of the world.

  • Employment and vocational training; Presentation of the project NEVER ALONE, which aims at accompany foreign minors, received in Turin, Rome and Catania, in specific training paths in order to guarantee work and social autonomy. The project activities foresee a special attention to the following topics: health, vocational training, education and employment. The project is co-funded by Compagnia di San Paolo, Cariplo Foundation, Enel Cuore Onlus, Foundation Cassa di Risparmio di Cuneo, Foundation Cassa di Risparmio di Padova e Rovigo, Foundation Cassa di Risparmio di Torino, Foundation CON IL SUD and Foundation Monte dei Paschi di Siena.
  • Presentation of the project Matechef – training in intercultural gastronomy and the socio-occupational integration. The experience of the Matechef project and the creation of the restaurant Altrove in Rome (CIES onlus).
